3 1/2 + 3 1/2 = The Tribulation

And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering, and to conquer. – Revelation 6:2

  • The Rapture of the Church takes place prior to the beginning of the Tribulation: 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18. Revelation 4:1 is parallel to 1st Thessalonians 4:15-18. (John is caught up as the church will be caught up at the Rapture.)
  • After the Rapture there is no longer a Restrainer for depravity (lawlessness): 2nd Thessalonians 2:7 (the Holy Spirit who indwells believers).
  • After the Rapture of the Church, a treaty with Israel and the Antichrist is signed (or re-confirmed). This begins the 7-year Tribulation (Daniel 9:27). The Tribulation is divided into two 3 ½ year periods, also referred to as 42 months and 42 months as referenced in Revelation 11:2, based on a prophetic year of 360 days.
  • The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Revelation 6:1-8) arrive on the scene: 1) The White Horse introduces the Antichrist, 2) the Red Horse brings war and bloodshed, 3) the Black Horse brings scarcity and famine, and 4) the Pale Horse (Chlorus – sickly green) brings pestilence and death.
  • The Judgments: The Seal Judgments – Revelation 6, The Trumpet Judgments – Revelation 8, and The Bowl Judgments – Revelation 16.

  • The Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel and desecrates the rebuilt temple (Abomination of Desolation) after 3 ½ years: Daniel 9:27 and Matthew 24:15.
  • This begins the second half of the Tribulation and Israel’s intense period of persecution known as the Time of Jacob’s Trouble: Jeremiah 30:7. This second half is known as the Great Tribulation.
  • The Antichrist is the beast of Revelation 13 (Daniel 9:26-27).
  • Seventy Weeks (of years): Daniel 9:24-27 confirms the Messiah will be cut off (executed); He was crucified. Referenced as 70 sevens, 483 years – 173,880 days. Daniel’s timeline nailed the exact day of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on the donkey proclaiming Himself as Messiah fulfilling Zechariah 9:9.
  • Daniel 12 tells of The Judgement of the Nations, referenced by Jesus in Matthew 25:31-46, and validated by Revelation 20:4-6.
